We’re delighted to announce that The Shed has received funding from the Joseph & Annie Cattle Trustto support the continued growth of our popular Woodpeckers project.

Led by our dedicated volunteers, TC and Claire, Woodpeckers began as a weekly session focused on marquetry. Thanks to growing interest and enthusiasm from participants, the project has quickly become one of The Shed’s most valued and engaging activities.

The funding will enable us to expand from one weekly session to two 2-hour sessions each week, giving more people the opportunity to learn traditional marquetry techniques as well as explore the art of wood carving.

We are incredibly grateful to the Joseph & Annie Cattle Trust for helping us meet the growing demand for these sessions. Woodpeckers is about much more than learning practical skills. The sessions provide a welcoming environment where people can build confidence, develop friendships, and experience a strong sense of belonging within their community.
